Department Review and Ranking
Individual departments are responsible for pre-screening all documents before ranking and submitting fellowship applications.
Departments then electronically forward a maximum of two nominations (rank ordered) for each fellowship (ie. two Killam nominee and two Notley nominees) to the Postdoctoral Fellows Office.
Only scanned originals are acceptable. Any scanned photocopies will result in an incomplete file.
Please make sure each nomination meets the eligibility requirements -- no exceptions will be made.

December 7, 2012 is the deadline for departments to submit nominations to the Postdoctoral Fellows Office.

Departments are also responsible for notifying applicants who are not being nominated.
Each nomination must include:

From the department:
|
- a Ranking Form
- a cover letter from the department Chair or Graduate Coordinator indicating benefits that would accrue from the proposed collaboration
- Note: Any publications submitted with the nomination should be removed prior to competition

| Submitted by the applicant and reviewed by the department: |
- a completed application form
- a curriculum vitae
- obtain an original or certified true copy of PhD, PhD-equivalent or health professional degree fulfillment. All documents submitted must be in English, as well as the original language in which they were written. A certified translator, not yourself, must prepare the English version.
- three original letters of appraisal. Additional letters will be removed prior to competition. Letters forwarded by a dossier service or career placement office will not be accepted.
- A letter of support from the U of A Research supervisor.
